Labour of Love, the 6th
album, released in September 1983, gave UB40 there first ever No1 in the UK album
charts.The album has been accredited as being the one that really shot the UB's to
stardom. Probably the most famous of all their hits "Red Red Wine" was the first
single to be released from this album. A cover version, the song went to No 1 in the UK
and stayed there for a number of weeks, the song has long been a favourite of all UB40
followers, and is still requested in every Disco and Dance Hall throughout the UK. Other tracks released from this album include, "Please Don't Make Me Cry", "Cherry Oh Baby" and "Many Rivers To Cross".
